Sporting Memorabilia
Leonard Joel has offered some of Australia’s most important Sporting Memorabilia at auction, from cricket to AFL, rugby, horse racing and Olympic memorabilia.
In 2017, Leonard Joel was proud to offer the personal collection of AFL legend Ron Barassi, which was acquired by a collector prior to auction for a record price in this category.
Most recently, Leonard Joel was entrusted with The Monty Noble Collection featuring the 1909 Ashes Urn, presented to Australia’s Cricket Captain, Noble, on his team’s victory over England. The urn sold for $80,600 to a private collector.
The auction also included a silver tray presented to the President of the Melbourne Cricket Club, Sir William Clarke by Captain Ivo Bligh in the very first ‘Ashes’ Test series of 1882-83 as well as The Murray Rose Collection, The Andrew Joseph Collection of Cricket Bats & Wisden Cricketers’ Almanacks and A Private Collection of Olympic Memorabilia.
